How you can help keep Â鶹ԭ´´ safe

Now that the fall semester is well underway, it’s a good idea to ensure you (and your colleagues!) are taking the necessary steps to safeguard our Â鶹ԭ´´ assets and protect students.

Here are some key actions you should be taking everyday:

  • Lock up your classroom, boardroom or office when you are away. This includes during your bathroom and coffee breaks.
  • Never leave your Â鶹ԭ´´ assets such as laptop, smartphone or tablet or your personal belongings such as purse, wallet or backpack, unattended. Lock it up or have a colleague keep an eye on it while you’re away.
  • Stay out of construction zones. Some parts of our new Academic building look finished but they have not been deemed safe for occupancy yet.
  • Lock your vehicle and keep valuables out of sight and covered and locked in your trunk.
  • Lock your bikes with a good quality lock that can’t easily be cut or broken. A U lock with a cable lock together works well.
  • Know your surroundings and do not place yourself in dangerous situations.
  • Add Campus Security, 780-479-8761 to your phone’s contacts. They can provide a security walk after hours to your vehicle when you need it.
  • Dial 5555 from an internal phone or call Campus Security if you see anything suspicious.
  • Regularly review all the tips found on our Security Tips page.
